Deposit and Confirmation
Confirmation in writing, together with a deposit of $1000 and a signed copy of these terms and conditions, is required within fourteen (14) days of making your reservation. The Brisbane Club reserves the right to cancel any reservation that has not been confirmed within fourteen (14) days of a tentative booking.
Full payment of your wedding is required three (3) working days prior unless other arrangements have been made. Please note that if payment is by cheque, we require receipt of the cheque five (5) working days prior to your wedding to ensure sufficient time for funds to clear.
Viewing the Premises
You are welcome to make an appointment with our Wedding Coordinators to come and see the club. Please be aware though that during business hours the club has a strict dress code for all visitors.
Men – Lounge Suit (Jacket and Tie during the day);
Women – Suitable Business/Dinner attire.
A minimum number of 75 guests apply to Saturday bookings, unless a large function is already booked. Should guest numbers fall below the minimum requirement, you will be required to pay for 75 adult guests. This is based on a wedding package being utilised. Please check with the Wedding Coordinator to see if this applies to your event.
Should a package not be utilised a minimum food & beverage spend of $8,000.00 is required.
Accommodation is not included in the wedding package with less than 75 guests. A surcharge of 15% is applicable on total food and beverage for events being held on Sundays. The minimum spend of $8,000.00 applies also to Sunday bookings. (Not including surcharge)
Queensland Health Laws does not permit smoking in any area of the Club.
The Club is extremely careful when looking after its guests and their belongings. Unfortunately we cannot take responsibility for the damage or loss of items before, during and after a function and suggest that insurance cover be arranged for valuable items. Please inform the Functions Manager when anything is being delivered prior to your wedding, and safe storage will be arranged. Any damage caused to the Club’s property is the financial responsibility of the organiser.
Late Liquor Licence and Staff Surcharge
In the event that you wish to extend the Club’s Alcohol licence past midnight a surcharge of $50 for the license applies. A labour surcharge of $30.00 per staff member,per hour will also apply. A minimum of four (4) weeks notice is required for functions wishing to continue after midnight.
NOTE: Due to licencing laws, we are unable to permit alcohol to be brought onto the premises.
Your menu selection needs to be finalised 14 days prior to your wedding. Should you wish your menu to be served alternately, an additional per person charge of $1.50 for entrée, $2.50 for main course and $1.50 for dessert will apply.
Our Chef will be happy to cut your wedding cake to be served as dessert and garnished with coulis. We will reduce the cost of your package by $7.00 per person. (Reduction applies only to Deluxe and Elegance Packages)
The wedding cars should stop in Queen Street at Post Office Square. From there, the bridal party will walk up the path to the Club entrance. Your Wedding Coordinator will be waiting to greet you.
Parking for your guests is available at Kings Post Office Square Car Park (open until 12 midnight). The Special Brisbane Club Rate is a 10% discount per vehicle, after 4.30pm. Vouchers are available from the Club on the night of the reception. Parking is also available at the Wintergarden Centre (open 24 hours).
Number of guests need to be confirmed two (2) working days prior the event, so that we can cater to your exact needs. This is the minimum number of guests we will cater and charge you for should your numbers fall.
To ensure your needs are met it is necessary to finalise your menu selection, room set up, theming and audio visual requirements fourteen (14) days prior to the event.
The Club would share your disappointment if your booking were to be cancelled. The following conditions apply to cancellation of a booking:
Notice of 90+ days: Deposit will be refunded in full
Notice between 30 - 90 days: Deposit will be refunded in full only if the booked space can be resold
Notice between 5 - 30 days: Deposit forfeited
Notice of 5 or less working days: Deposit is forfeited as well as full payment of all food and audio‑visual charges
Note: All notification of cancellation must be in writing.
A cleaning charge of $60 applies if confetti is used within the Club, however fresh flower petals are a beautiful alternative.
